The Whitby Dunlops thank the people from ServiceMaster for their continued support of our hockey club. Pictured above are ServiceMaster of Durham President, Paul Horning, with one of ServiceMaster of Durham's key employees, Ian McCutcheon, who to leads the Business Development of ServiceMaster of Durham along with friend and TV personality from CTV, Joe Tilley.

These individuals along with the team captain from Dundas, Dan Pitre, and one of the alternate captains from Whitby, Bob McQuat (who is sponsored by ServiceMaster of Durham) met at centre-ice for the ceremonial faceoff as Joe Tilley from CTV Sports dropped the puck.

In the picture below the ServiceMaster of Durham crowd enjoys the game.

2008 Tournie ~ Golfing is FUN!! Print

OnTheRocks_2008140 golfers came out for a great day on the links!!
A SPECIAL THANK YOU goes out to all the sponsors and Hole Sponsors.
The Royal Ashburn staff did a tremendous job of keeping golfers informed of weather conditions and got golfers out almost bang on when weather cleared.
The weather did not prevent the crew of On the Rocks to be handing out beautiful tall stainless steel drinking glasses. Travis Martin's personnel from Investors Group sponsored the 19th hole where golfers got their names entered in a draw for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2009 British Open.  InvestorsWe also had representatives from Body Boomers and they gave each golfer a FREE one month trial membership.
There were many sponsors that were kind enough to donate items for the 'goody bag' and others that helped with items for the live and silent auction. A very exciting, exhilarating one was graciously sponsored by Kawartha Downs Speedway. It was purchased at the live auction and it includes training by a NASCAR driver as well as an in car 'ultimate' driving experience at the speedway. Canada Coach helped with a silent auction item which was a $500 charter coach gift certificate. Some dugout Blue Jay tickets along with a $50 KEG card and transportation was very generously donated by McIntosh-Anderson Funeral Home in Oshawa. Bill Diggans, the owner of Country Lane Golf Course, donated a set of Cobra irons that got snapped up in the silent auction. Tim Hortons BBQ also went. Terry Rowland from NAMI had some ROYAL_ASHBURN_ARMS_250x250larger items that were also auctioned off.

The Dunlops thank Body Boomers, Boston Pizza (20 Taunton Road East Whitby), Frito Lay, Master Mechanic, NAMI, Panago, The Motion Group and This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) for helping to fill the 'goody bags'. Of course we also wanted to thank Alan's Butcher Shop for supplying us with the bags.

The roast beef dinner was excellent. Wilson Paterson, owner of Royal Ashburn Golf Club, got up and said a few words to the golfers. He spoke about the importance of all facets of the community to join in supporting the Dunnies and also for the community to support the businesses that help this non-profit community based hockey club. Wilson Paterson has long been a supporter of the Whitby Dunlops.

The Whitby Dunlop organization thanks Wilson Paterson (President), Scott Paterson (General Manager) and all the staff of Royal Ashburn for their efforts to put together this successful golf day.
