Peter Perry Award
Congratulations to Wilson Paterson, owner of the Royal Ashburn Golf Club and a major sponsor of the Whitby Dunlops, who was presented this year's Peter Perry Award.
Since 1955 the Whitby Chamber of Commerce has been proud to honour Whitby’s Outstanding Citizen of the year by recognizing their commitment to the community through the Annual Peter Perry Award. It is spirit, enthusiasm and dedication to the community that the Whitby Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize in our community today
Many people in our community give countless hours to make our community a better place for us all. The Peter Perry Award is an extension of that commitment to give back to our town and honours one outstanding individual who has made significant contributions to the Town of Whitby – “Whitby’s Citizen of the Year”.
Roxanne Serra
We would also like to congratulate Roxanne Serra from On the Rocks in Whitby and also a sponsor of the Whitby Dunlops for her selection for a Business Achievement Award in the Young Entrepreneur category.
Another very important supporter of the Whitby Dunlops has been Ian McCutcheon and the owners of ServiceMaster of Durham. They won the Business Achievement Award for companies that employ up to 49 employees.
Last but not least of the supporters of the Dunnies is Metroland Durham Region Media Group. Their publication of sports stories through This Week Newspaper has helped us get our story out to the public and helped with our success.
We also wish to congratulate the other winners. Shawn Williamson from the Baleen Group earned the Environmental Achievement Award , Valentino's Grande Salon won the Business Achievement Award for a company employing 50 or more employees and Nzinga Brown from Benjamin McColl was the recipient of the Scholarship Award.
